This course is an introduction to Paul’s letters and theology. Paul was a real person in history who loved Jesus, preached the gospel, and followed the leading of the Holy Spirit. His life and letters tell us the story about how God used him to spread the gospel and plant churches during the early days of Christianity. There is much for us to learn from Paul about theology, ministry, and mission! To help us do this, we will look at each of Paul’s letters in the historical order they were written (which is different than the order we have them in our bibles) along with the book of Acts. As we read through each letter, we will continuously be asking three important questions:

Who are the letters written for? (i.e. who were the Corinthians, Philippians, etc.)

Why did Paul write to them? (i.e. what are the situations and issues Paul is addressing)

What are the key theological themes of each letter? (i.e. what does Paul want his audience to know about God, Christ, salvation, etc.)
